  1. To install the “Insert Date” and “Insert Time” extensions, place them into your
  2. “BBEdit Extensions” folder and restart (or launch) BBEdit. They will appear now
  3. in the BBEdit’s “Extensions” menu.
  4.  
  5. The “Insert Date” and “Insert Time” extensions perform simple but useful
  6. functions. When activated, they insert the current date and time at the
  7. cursor’s location.

  12. To use the “Insert Date” extension, select it from the “Extensions” menu and the
  13. date (in its abbreviated format) will be inserted into any open document.

  15.     Example: Mon, Dec 13, 1993.

  17. By holding the “option” key down while selecting “Insert Date”, you can insert
  18. the date in long format.
  19.  
  20.     Example: Monday, December 13, 1993.
  21.     
  22. To insert the date in short format, simply hold the “shift” key down while
  23. selecting “Insert Date”.

  39. When selected from the “Extensions” menu, “Inser Time” will insert the time
  40. (including seconds) into any open document.

  44. To insert the time without seconds, just hold the “option” key down while
  45. selecting it.

  63. You can also use the “Set Keys…” option in the “Extensions” menu to assign
  64. extension keys to “Insert Date” and/or “Insert Time”, then a date and time
  65. stamps are just a short keystroke away.
